About Me

Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to look at my portfolio. I am a self taught artist and have a small studio at my home in WIltshire.

I have always loved stained glass. As a child every evening at Christmas time I would take me my dad's hand and walk with him to our local church. The windows would be lit up during advent displaying the most beautiful story of the nativity. They had me entranced and inspired.

My dad passed in 2021 and I knew I wanted to do something special with the money he had left me and decided to take stained glass lessons and purchase a kiln. He was a keen photographer and always supported me in my various artistic pursuits. It is safe to say he would approve of my spending and will love it that I use his old light box daily.

My panels and sun catchers are made using the traditional techniques of cutting and painting on glass using vitreous paints. These are applied in layers which are kiln fired up to 3 times. When the individual pieces are finished lead came is cut and soldered between the pieces of glass. Lastly the panel is cemented and cleaned to make it secure from the elements and ensure it withstands the test of time.

I practice kundalini yoga and many of my designs have been inspired during sadhana and meditation. I have had several requests for altar pieces, including Durga, Kali, Ganesha, and Jupiter, lotus flowers and chakras.

There is a creative yet methodical process to this work which I find very meditative. Each of my pieces is made with an abundance of love and patience.

I feel when I work with glass I have all the elements in my hand, the rock from which it was birthed, the fire which transformed it, the air bubbles that lie within it and the perpetual movement and flow of water.

When I am not making glass I am a part time teacher and Forest School leader. This diversity keeps me grounded, connected to nature and playful.

AND SHOULD THIS SUNLIT WORLD GROW DARK ONE DAY, THE COLOURS OF MY LIFE WILL LEAVE A SHINING LIGHT TO GUIDE THE WAY.
